Ilaya is an American designed womenswear label, made in Australia, founded in 2026 by Jacqueline, a Sydney girl raised in Santa Monica, California.
Each design begins in the quiet of a notebook filled with travels through Europe, fabric discoveries, and the details that only reveal themselves when you slow down enough to look. These early concepts wait for the perfect fabric to emerge.
We source our materials with care, from International and local collection houses that share our commitment to ethical craftsmanship, and from some of the finest mills in Italy and France. Every textile has its own rhythm, a tactile story we know will shape the final design.
When the right fabric is found, we return to the notebook. It is in this moment of connection, fabric to design, that our work begins to take form. From there, we drape, pattern, and refine, elevating each piece until it becomes a perfect fit.
The result is a collection that transcends trend, defined by a fit that feels natural, effortless, and timeless.
Every Ilaya piece is made in Sydney, where we personally oversee the entire quality assurance process from design through to final garment. We order only the exact quantity of fabric and hardware each piece requires, eliminating waste before it begins and ensuring every material we invest in serves a purpose.
We intentionally design slowly and keep our collection small. This is not a limitation, it is a choice. It means every piece that reaches you is considered, crafted, and made to last, not produced in volume for the sake of it. Each order is shipped in fully recycled packaging, because the same care we bring to our garments extends to how we send them to you.

THE MEANING of ILAYA
The name "Ilaya” is commonly used in archipelagos around the world. It means "the one who lives near the sea" or "from the seaside.” Reflecting a connection to the ocean or coastal areas and carries a sense of tranquility, strength, and a deep appreciation for the beauty and power of the sea.
